It's never too late to start a program to strengthen your core muscles -- the area from shoulders to hips, including abdomen, back and buttocks. Every move you make depends on these muscles. Strengthening them can help improve posture, balance and flexibility and most importantly, prevent falls. Water aerobics, Pilates, tai chi, yoga and fitness ball exercises all build core strength.
